Hey Everyone, and by everyone I mean just me I guess since no one reads this! But I digress. I am going to give this whole blog thing another try, why not I guess the social networing thing is the way to go nowadays I suppose. Ahem... to the point you say? Ahh.. yes so I have finally got started on a project I have put on the back burner since more than 2 years ago when I lived in Colorado. Today I started on my Skateboard Sharpie Project. Lately I have been really, really getting in shapie art. Fun stuff I tells you, Arghh! Anyway, taking progress pics as I go and I will post when the project is complete. Afghanistan

So its been a long time, but here I am probably tyring to get back into this whole Blog concept, which is only step below I think tweeting and FB wall posts, but i Digress.I am here in sunny Afghanistan for work for the next year. For those thinking WTF? this was my choice. So I will try to pass the time by getting back into the design thing. I was so close to start College again and go for Media Design and the n this job came up. Well that's the way things happen sometimes. I will use this Blog and my FB to update some designs and pictures of Afghanistan, but dint worry I don't plan on traveling around here. So it will be limited of what I can take pics of but I'm sure I can come up with some good stuff. Well I guess that's for now. I'm almost off work. So that means everyone back in the states is asleep. Until next blog.

So its been like 100 years since I've been on here. I totally failed with the one design a day challenge. Maybe that was too ambitious, but when I do get in a creative mood I will post what I've designed. So I will do my best wih posting designs. So anywho last night I was feeling very creative, took an old profile pic I had and started doing this Doodle technique I have been wanting to try. Hey again, well here is #3 to be Honest with you I started this one off way, way I mean way different. First off I was working on it for about an hour. It had a space nebula background, different colors, glossy black and gray text. Anywhoo point is when something isnt working for you and you dont feel it as an artist change gears try something new. I started to copy and paste some of the text saw something there and boom it popped in my head and the new design was boom! done and over with in 5 minutes Flat. Well I finally got #2 up. I'm trying to stick with Typography this month. I though I should give a crack at making my own "Alex Tafur Design" Logo. So here it is, some subliminal message in the letters and I hope you guys enjoy. Stay Thirsty My Friends!

So I'm starting this Design Experience as I like to call that start from a Design Challenge from Smashing Magizine. The challene was presented to me by two friends so now I will design something, anything everday this year. This is first design so Im a little behind the 8 ball bit I will bounce back. So let the Design Experience begin!

I figured what a better way to start the New Year with a Design about that. My design is about 2010 being a bright, vibrant year for me that there should be some change in my life. Colors to reflect my great mood starting this design and what I look forward to in this year, hope you guys Enjoy!
